Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.2.2.LI.1 - Examine more themes in novels through the major incidents and related ideas
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- State the difference between a theme and a subtheme in a novel, using examples from texts studied so far.
- Identify major incidents in selected passages from the class novel and explain the theme or subtheme each incident reveals.
- Group related incidents in a novel under broader themes, showing how separate events build up one central idea.
- Connect themes to real-life situations in Ghanaian society using evidence from the text.
- Support or extend a peer’s interpretation of a theme by adding a related idea or counter-evidence from the text.
