Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.2.2.LI.3 - Analyse the relationship between/among plot, subplots and conflict
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain how a subplot relates to the main plot in a narrative text, identifying at least one link between them.
- Identify the central conflict in a given passage from the prescribed text and state how it drives the main plot forward.
- Distinguish between the main plot and subplots in a narrative, using examples from the prescribed text.
- Analyse how the resolution of a subplot influences the outcome of the main plot in a given text.
- Present a small-group analysis of the relationship between plot, subplots and conflict using appropriate academic language.
