Indicator: 3.1.3.LI.1 - Describe the nature, relevance, and mandate of professional bodies.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least five professional bodies operating in Ghana and state the field each one regulates.
- Explain what a professional body is and describe its core characteristics (nature).
- Discuss the relevance of professional bodies to practitioners, the public, and the nation.
- Outline the mandate (main duties and responsibilities) of at least one professional body in Ghana.
- Distinguish between the roles of a professional body and those of a trade union or a learned society.
