Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.2.LI.4 - Compare electricity generation from the various renewable energy sources.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Compare at least three renewable energy sources (water, wind, solar, biomass, biogas) in terms of resource availability and quantity of electricity that can be generated.
Evaluate the ease of electricity generation and the cost of generation for different renewable energy sources.
Assess the availability of technology in Ghana for various renewable electricity generation systems.
Present a reasoned comparison of two renewable energy sources, justifying which is more suitable for a given Ghanaian community.
Work collaboratively in mixed-ability, mixed-gender groups to discuss and categorise renewable energy sources based on multiple comparison criteria.
