Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.3.1.LI.3 - Discuss the actors and institutions involved in Ghana’s foreign policy.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least five actors and institutions involved in Ghana’s foreign policy formulation and implementation.
Explain the specific roles and functions of the Executive, Parliament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and Ghana’s diplomatic missions abroad.
Analyse how the different actors work together in the formulation and implementation of Ghana’s foreign policy.
Assess the importance of citizen participation, including women, youth and persons with special needs, in Ghana’s foreign policy processes.
Demonstrate responsibility, commitment and patriotism when discussing Ghana’s representation in the global community.

Collaborative Learning: Work in mixed-ability and gender groups to identify the various actors and institutions responsible for Ghana's foreign policy. Consider hard work, responsibility, commitment and patriotism. Highlight different groups (women, persons with special needs, youth children etc.) positions in Ghana's foreign policy.
