Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.1.1.LI.3 - Explain the meaning and types of rights
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define rights in their own words and distinguish between a right and a privilege, using at least two examples of each.
- Identify and describe the main types of rights (civil, political, economic, social, cultural, and human rights), citing the relevant articles of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
- Categorise a given list of scenarios as either rights or privileges and justify their reasoning in a short oral or written explanation.
- Analyse at least two minority rights issues in Ghanaian society and suggest how these rights could be protected, demonstrating the values of tolerance, equality, and responsibility.
