Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.2 - Discuss the various types of constitution.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and name at least four types of constitution with Ghanaian and international examples.
  2. Differentiate between written and unwritten constitutions, explaining the key features of each.
  3. Compare and contrast rigid and flexible constitutions, giving at least one example of each.
  4. Distinguish between unitary and federal constitutions and explain which type Ghana operates under.
  5. Justify the importance of a constitution in promoting patriotism, respect for authority, and national cohesion, using reasoned arguments.
