Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.1.3.LI.1

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Distinguish between synchronous and asynchronous communication tools, giving at least two examples of each with their appropriate use cases.
  2. Create and set up accounts for at least two communication tools (one synchronous and one asynchronous) using their smartphones, tablets, or computers.
  3. Configure basic settings on a chosen communication tool, including profile information, privacy settings, and notification preferences.
  4. Select the most appropriate communication tool for a given scenario by justifying their choice based on factors such as real-time need, audience, and nature of information.
  5. Participate in a group practical session using a communication tool to share information and demonstrate responsible online behaviour, including respect for others and avoidance of cyberbullying.
