Indicator: 3.1.2.LI.2 - Evaluate the Role of Social Media as Communication and Collaboration Tools in Society.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define social media and list at least five popular social media platforms used in Ghana and globally.
- Describe the primary communication and collaboration features of platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of social media use for individuals and society, drawing on their own experiences.
- Discuss the impact of social media on privacy, mental health, relationships, and information sharing in the Ghanaian context.
- Demonstrate responsible social media practices, including protecting personal information and avoiding cyberbullying.
