Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.3.3.LI.1 - Explain the benefits of using environmentally friendly processes and products in the manufacturing process.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define environmentally friendly processes and products in manufacturing, using examples from Ghanaian industries.
  2. Explain at least four distinct benefits of adopting environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, covering environmental, economic, social and health dimensions.
  3. Compare the costs and benefits of an eco-friendly process against a harmful one using a simple two-column analysis.
  4. Justify, with reasons, why a Ghanaian manufacturer should switch from a harmful process to an environmentally friendly one.
  5. Create a mind map showing how environmentally friendly manufacturing benefits the factory, the community and the nation.
