Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.2 - Differentiate between the types of Data Structures
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least four different types of data structures (arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs) from given descriptions and examples.
- Distinguish between linear and non-linear data structures, stating the key difference between the two categories.
- Match each data structure type to its defining characteristic (for example, stack uses Last In, First Out, queue uses First In, First Out).
- Classify everyday scenarios, such as a queue at a trotro station or a family tree, into the correct data structure type.
- Justify their choice of data structure for a given simple scenario, giving at least one reason for their selection.
