Data Communication and Network Systems
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.3.LI.2 - Identify at least 3 Types of Network Systems
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define a network system and recall the basic components they met in the previous lesson (nodes, links, data).
- Identify by name at least three types of network systems: Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN).
- Give at least one key feature of each of the three network types, including typical geographic coverage and a familiar example.
- Recognise visual representations (diagrams or maps) of LAN, MAN, and WAN and correctly label each one.
- Recall real-world examples of each network type found in Ghana, such as a school computer lab, a city-wide network in Kumasi, and a network connecting Accra to London.
