Collaborative Learning: Learners in mixed-ability groups identify and explain the use of measuring tools and gauges (such as vernier callipers, micrometre screw gauges, steel scales, vernier height gauges, vernier depth gauges, bevel protractors, dial gauges, engineering square, V- block and radius gauge) in the workshop. Experiential Learning: In small groups learners use measuring tools and gauges to measure the dimensions of a work piece. Let learners share their work with others for comments. Teaching and Learning Materials: - Textbooks - Library resources - Internet access - Measuring tools and gauges - Work pieces Assessment (1.3.1.AS.2). The document marks these depth-of-knowledge levels for this indicator: Level 2 Skills of conceptual understanding; Level 3 Strategic reasoning; Level 4 Extended critical thinking and reasoning.
