Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.1.LI.5 - Explain how extra solar objects such as Comets, Asteroids and Constellations affect our culture and society.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Distinguish between comets, asteroids, meteors, meteorites and constellations by stating at least two defining characteristics of each.
- Explain the physical origin and motion of comets and asteroids, building on the gravitational concepts studied in Weeks 3 and 4.
- Identify at least three Ghanaian cultural practices, beliefs, or societal activities connected to comets, asteroids, or constellations.
- Evaluate how modern scientific understanding of these objects interacts with traditional beliefs, using clear reasoning.
- Present findings from group research on a chosen extra solar object using digital tools or visual aids.
