Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.3.LI.1 - Discuss the concept of the human skin, its care and grooming.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and describe the three main layers of the human skin and state at least one primary function of each layer.
- State at least two things that cleansing the skin twice a day helps to remove, such as dirt, sweat, oil, and dead skin cells.
- Explain the primary function of the sebaceous glands in the skin, including their role in keeping the skin moisturized and protected.
- Explain the role of antioxidants in skin care and give at least two common examples, such as vitamins C and E.
- Create a personal skin-care logbook with headings for days, dates, and daily skin-care activities to track their grooming routine over the coming weeks.
