Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.3.4.LI.2 - Présenter et discuter des genres de la littérature (Production et interaction orales).

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify and name the five main literary genres studied in class: le genre narratif, le genre poétique, le genre théâtral, le genre épistolaire et le genre argumentatif.
Present a short oral description of a chosen literary genre, stating its main characteristics and giving at least one example in French.
Discuss with a partner the differences between two literary genres, using comparative phrases such as “tandis que”, “par contre”, and “alors que”.
Participate in a word game on literary genre terminology, recognising key terms and their definitions.
Express a personal opinion in French about which genre they prefer and justify their choice with a reason.
