Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.1.2.LI.2 - Identify the various ways learners misuse their time and the benefits of proper time management.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least five common ways learners misuse their time, drawing on their own experiences and observations of peers.
- Explain at least four benefits of proper time management, using examples from school, home and community life.
- Dramatise or role-play a scenario that shows both the misuse of time and its consequences.
- Assess their own daily routines and classify their activities as productive or wasteful use of time, with reasons.
- Design a personal timetable that reflects a realistic and balanced use of their time as a student (preparatory step, to be refined in the next lesson).

General Learning Approach: In the context of schools with large sizes, the RMEC team should utilize case studies, watching videos (movie scenes), drama/role play that will offer opportunities for discussions afterwards. Activity-Based Learning: Through dramatisation, demonstrate the various ways learners misuse their time. Collaborative Learning: Discuss the benefits of effective time management by making reference to various sources including books and the internet. Project-Based Learning: Work individually to design a personal timetable to help you manage your time effectively as a student. Enquiry Route: Ways learners misuse their time. e.g., watching unnecessary programmes, spending too much time on social media. Benefits of time management. e.g., one can accomplish more with less efforts, it helps one to make better choices.
