Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.1.LI.1 - Identify key work ethics and indicate how they can be applied at home, school and in the world of work.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define work ethics and list at least six key work ethics, including due diligence, hard work, grit, punctuality, honesty, and integrity.
- Explain in their own words why positive work ethics matter for personal success and for society’s development.
- Give concrete examples of how at least three different work ethics can be applied at home, at school, and in the world of work.
- Role play or describe a scenario showing the difference between ethical and unethical work attitudes, and discuss the consequences of each.
- Reflect on their own work attitudes and identify one work ethic they will personally practise more consistently in the coming week.

General Learning Approach: In the context of schools with large sizes, the RMEC should utilise case studies, video watching (movie scenes), drama/role play that will offer opportunities for discussions afterwards. Where appropriate the following pedagogies may also be implemented: Exploratory Learning: Prior to the lesson, research about key workplace ethics and attitudes from the internet, books, library, and other sources Talk for Learning: Through a whole group discussion, discuss each of the workplace ethics and how they can be applied in the world of work Activity-Based Learning: Work in mixed ability groups to role play the exhibition of various work ethics through short dramas Enquiry Route Learning: - Relevance of work - Provisions for livelihood, development and use of talent, self-reliance, etc. - Work ethics: Due diligence, hard work, grit, punctuality, etc. Teaching and Learning Resources: - Religious and Moral Education (RME) Textbook for Basic 7 - Computer - Internet Assessment (1.1.1.AS.1).
