Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.4.2.LI.2 - Examine the relevance of advocacy and community engagement to Ghana’s development, recognising the impact of positive and peaceful collective action on societal development
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define advocacy and community engagement in their own words and distinguish between the two concepts.
- Explain at least three ways advocacy has contributed to national development in Ghana, using local examples.
- Analyse the impact of positive and peaceful collective action on Ghanaian society, comparing it with the effects of violent or destructive action.
- Assess the relevance of advocacy and community engagement to Ghana’s development goals, justifying their position with evidence and reasoning.
- Propose a peaceful advocacy or community engagement initiative that addresses a development challenge in their own community, outlining its steps and expected impact.
