Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.3.3.LI.1 - Explore the processes by which justice is administered in Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Explain the four key legal framework concepts: Constitutional provision, Legislative Instrument (LI), Executive Instrument (EI), and Judicial Review, with at least one Ghanaian example of each.
Describe the structure and hierarchy of the Ghanaian court system, from the lowest to the highest court.
Trace the basic steps of a legal proceeding in Ghana, from the filing of a case to the final judgment.
Assess why fair and impartial trials are essential for addressing societal injustices in Ghana.
Identify at least two appropriate legal channels available to a citizen who believes their human rights have been violated.
