Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.6.2.LI.3 - Discuss challenges facing entrepreneurs in Ghana and how to sustain a business

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least five major challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Ghana, drawing on examples from their own communities and the virtual field trip.
  2. Explain how each identified challenge affects the day-to-day operations and growth of a business enterprise.
  3. Categorise business challenges into financial, regulatory, infrastructural, and human factors, based on the exemplars discussed.
  4. Propose at least three practical strategies for sustaining a business in Ghana, demonstrating Level 3 strategic reasoning in their recommendations.
  5. Apply their understanding to create a short sustainability plan for a small Ghanaian business, showing how it could overcome two specific challenges.
