Indicator: 2.5.5.LI.1 - Examine the major events leading to the rise of the scientific revolution in the sixteenth century
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define the Scientific Revolution and explain its historical context in sixteenth century Europe.
- Identify at least four key figures of the Scientific Revolution and describe their specific contributions to scientific knowledge.
- Sequence the major events leading to the rise of the Scientific Revolution on a timeline from the early sixteenth to the late seventeenth century.
- Analyse how scientific ideas challenged established religious, philosophical, and traditional beliefs of the period.
- Evaluate historical evidence to distinguish between fact and interpretation when examining accounts of the Scientific Revolution.
