Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.3.1.LI.1 - Discuss the institutions mandated to enforce law and order in the Ghanaian society and how their functions help to maintain law and order

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain the meaning of constitution, law and order, and rule of law in their own words.
  2. Identify at least five institutions mandated to enforce law and order in Ghana and state their primary functions.
  3. Discuss how the functions of these institutions collectively help to maintain law and order in Ghanaian society.
  4. Analyse how the constitution and rule of law underpin the work of law enforcement institutions.
  5. Work collaboratively in mixed-ability groups to present findings on a specific law enforcement institution and its role in society.
