Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.6.2.LI.2 - Analyse the similarities and differences between self-employment and entrepreneurship

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define self-employment and entrepreneurship in their own words, using Ghanaian examples from their communities.
  2. Identify at least three similarities between self-employment and entrepreneurship, such as independence, risk-taking and income generation.
  3. State at least three differences between self-employment and entrepreneurship, including scale, innovation and growth orientation.
  4. Categorise given scenarios of Ghanaian workers as either self-employed persons or entrepreneurs, justifying their classification.
  5. Explain how the relationship between self-employment and entrepreneurship connects to personal development, building on the previous week’s lesson.
