Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.8.2.1.3 - Lire, comprendre et réagir à des souhaits (Réception écrite / Compréhension des écrits)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Read aloud a variety of wish cards, wish messages and wish posters in French with correct pronunciation and intonation.
Identify the key expressions used to express wishes in written French texts (e.g. Je te/vous souhaite, Bon anniversaire, Bonne route, J’espère que).
Determine the context and the intended recipient of a written wish from its content and phrasing.
Respond appropriately to a written wish by choosing or composing a suitable reply using expressions already learned in Weeks 7 (e.g. Merci, c’est gentil, À toi aussi).
Analyse a simple authentic document about how French people express wishes, and compare it with Ghanaian wishing customs.
