Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.4.1.1 - Écouter, comprendre et réagir à une conversation, une présentation dans laquelle on décrit les caractéristiques physiques et morales de quelqu’un (Réception orale / Compréhension de l’oral)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify and point out key physical description phrases (e.g., Il est grand, Elle a les cheveux longs) when listening to a recorded or read conversation.
Distinguish between physical characteristics and moral characteristics in an oral description.
Respond correctly to comprehension questions about a heard description, using short French phrases or non-verbal cues.
Discriminate between similar-sounding French words (e.g., grand/grande, gros/grosse) in an auditory discrimination exercise.
Show understanding of how descriptions reveal a person’s character and behaviour, linking words like gentil and méchant to actions heard in the audio.

This lesson builds on the greeting and introduction structures learners practised in Terms 1, Weeks 1 to 6 (Strands 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3). It focuses only on listening comprehension and reacting orally. Learners will not yet produce full descriptions, as that is scheduled for Week 8.
