By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define a generalisation and distinguish it from a specific fact or detail in a text.
Identify patterns in a given text that support a generalisation.
Formulate at least three sound generalisations from a text read in class.
Link the generalisations made to real life situations in Ghana using evidence from personal experience.
Judge whether a generalisation is supported or overgeneralized based on the evidence in the text.
