By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Read a given passage within a stipulated time frame to identify the main idea of each paragraph.
  2. Scan a text quickly to locate specific information such as names, dates, places, and figures.
  3. Answer simple comprehension questions based on specific details found in the text.
  4. Peer review a partner’s answers to check for accuracy and completeness of information gathered.
  5. Present the specific information they have gathered from the text in a clear, organised manner.
