Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

1. Explain what is meant by maintaining safe working environment
E.g., Procedures for ensuring that a surrounding environment is free from dangers that can cause harm to workers
2. Discuss the importance of keeping the working environment safe, in groups.
E.g., To reduce/prevent accidents
3. Demonstrate safety practices at workplaces.
E.g.
- Tag faulty equipment
- Report frayed flexes
- Repair/replace frayed flexes
- Repair/replace broken parts of tools.
4. Project work: Design posters to create awareness on the need to maintain a safe working environment, and post them around the school.
Note: School Health Education Programme (SHEP) clubs to educate other learners, cooks, food vendors, and staff of the school on food hygiene practices. The school should form a SHEP club if there is none in the school.
