Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.5.1.1.1 - Identify and explain the moral teachings from the Bible, Qur’an and Oral Traditions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least five moral teachings from the Bible, five from the Qur’an, and five from Indigenous African Religion (Oral Traditions) with their sources.
  2. Explain the meaning and importance of at least three moral teachings from each of the three major religions in Ghana.
  3. Group moral teachings from the three religions into shared themes such as honesty, respect, patience, and sexual purity.
  4. Use proverbs and wise sayings from Ghanaian oral traditions to illustrate moral values.
  5. Categorise taboos in Ghanaian communities and explain the moral lesson behind each category.
