Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.2.2.1.3 - Organise an appreciation and appraisal of own and others’ artworks that reflect the history, cultures, physical and social environment.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Describe at least three elements and two principles of art used in a given artwork and explain how they express beauty, meaning and culture.
  2. Analyse and interpret a peer’s artwork by identifying the cultural, historical or environmental references it contains.
  3. Present a structured oral appraisal of an artwork using a clear order of points (description, analysis, interpretation, judgement).
  4. Reflect on their own artwork and suggest at least two specific ways to improve its identity and cultural expression.
  5. Facilitate a small-group appraisal session where each member gives and receives constructive feedback on their work.
