Indicator: B8.2.1.3.8 - Identify various Ghanaian Dance types and their context of performance

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least five Ghanaian dance types and correctly place them into their categories (religious, war, or sociocultural).
  2. Explain the context of performance for at least three different Ghanaian dances, stating who performs them, when, and why.
  3. Compare and contrast two Ghanaian dances from different categories, identifying at least two similarities and two differences.
  4. Demonstrate through movement or discussion how the purpose of a dance (religious, war, or sociocultural) affects its style and mood.
  5. Work collaboratively in groups to present findings on a selected Ghanaian dance, showing its category and context of performance.
