Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.1.3.1.1 - Distinguish between creativity and innovation and their application for developing design solutions to problems in society.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define creativity and innovation in their own words and state at least two clear differences between the two concepts.
  2. Classify given design products or artefacts as examples of creativity, innovation, or both, with reasons for their classification.
  3. Identify a common problem in their local community and propose at least one creative idea and one innovative solution to address it.
  4. Examine a local artefact and report on one design challenge associated with it during a short class discussion.
