Indicator: B8.2.3.1.1 - Explain the importance of desktop publishing software (DTP)
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define desktop publishing software (DTP) in their own words and distinguish it from ordinary word processing software.
- State and explain at least four importance of desktop publishing software in producing professional documents.
- Identify and name at least four DTP packages, including MS-Publisher, Adobe InDesign, LibreOffice Draw and QuarkXPress.
- Match appropriate DTP software to real-life publishing tasks (e.g., designing a church programme, school magazine or market flyer).
- Discuss the advantages of using DTP over handwriting or basic typing for producing printed materials.
