Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.3.4.2.2 - Recognize the diversity of cultural practices within Ghanaian society.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four Ghanaian festivals and special occasions mentioned in an Arabic reading passage, stating their names in Arabic.
  2. Read and analyse a short Arabic text about Ghanaian festivals and correctly answer comprehension questions about cultural practices.
  3. List key vocabulary items associated with Ghanaian social occasions (outdooring, weddings, festivals) in Arabic with their English meanings.
  4. Compare two different Ghanaian cultural practices described in Arabic and state one way in which they differ.
  5. Express respect and appreciation for at least one Ghanaian cultural practice that is different from their own, using a short Arabic sentence or phrase.
