Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.3.1.1.1 - Identify the difference between two sounds that phonologically appears similar but are phonetically different.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Pronounce correctly at least 6 pairs of Arabic words that contain similar-sounding but phonetically different consonants, such as ح/خ and س/ص.
Explain in their own words the articulatory difference between at least 3 pairs of confusing sounds (where each sound is produced in the mouth).
Match written words to the correct sound pair when presented with minimal pairs from the exemplar list.
Read aloud a short list of paired words with accurate pronunciation, distinguishing clearly between the two target sounds.
Sort a set of given words into two columns based on which of a confusing sound pair they contain.
