Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.1.2.4.3 - Demonstrate communicative skill by assigning the appropriate expressions for seasonal greetings and well wishes.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three different seasonal greetings and well wishes in Arabic and state the occasion for which each is used.
- Match given Arabic expressions to their correct occasions (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Ramadan, weddings, new baby, recovery from illness).
- Produce the appropriate greeting or well wish when the teacher names a specific occasion in Arabic or English.
- Respond correctly to a seasonal greeting when it is spoken aloud, using the proper reply.
- Apply the appropriate expression in a short role-play of a seasonal occasion such as Eid visiting or a naming ceremony.
