Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.1.1.1.1 - Demonstrate understanding of the phonemic changes of the simple verb patterns.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the additional letter added to a trilateral Arabic root in Form 2 (فَعَّلَ), Form 3 (فَاعَلَ), and Form 4 (أَفْعَلَ) when they hear or see the verb.
- State the sound effect (gemination, vowel lengthening, or prefix addition) that each additional letter produces in the verb pattern.
- Pronounce the three simple verb forms correctly, distinguishing between the doubled consonant in Form 2, the lengthened vowel in Form 3, and the glottal prefix in Form 4.
- Listen to a simple verb and classify it under the correct form (1, 2, 3, or 4) based on its phonemic features.
- Apply the pattern to write the correct form of a given trilateral root.
