By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define a simple machine and distinguish it from a complex machine.
List at least six examples of simple machines found in their homes, school and community.
Categorise given tools or devices as either simple machines or complex machines, giving a reason for each choice.
Classify simple machines into their basic types (lever, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane, wedge and screw) using everyday objects as examples.
Work in groups to identify and present the simple machines used in a common Ghanaian workplace or activity.
