Indicator: B7.5.2.1.1 - Summarise the causes of substance abuse

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define substance abuse in their own words, distinguishing between misuse of prescribed drugs and use of banned hard drugs.
  2. Identify at least four types of substances commonly abused, classifying them as common drugs, hard drugs, or stimulants.
  3. Explain at least three major causes of substance abuse with clear examples.
  4. Analyse a given scenario and identify which cause of substance abuse is at play.
  5. Summarise the causes of substance abuse in a short written or oral presentation.
