Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.1.1.1 - Identify the types of worship in the three major religions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define worship in their own words, using at least one example from their daily experience.
Identify at least two types of worship (private and congregational) and give one example of each from any of the three major religions in Ghana.
Classify descriptions or pictures of worship practices into the correct religion: Christianity, Islam, or Indigenous African Religions.
Distinguish between private worship and congregational worship, citing one Ghanaian example of each.
Work cooperatively in mixed ability groups to dramatise a type of worship from one of the three major religions, respecting the beliefs of others.

2. Show pictures or video clip of people at worship
3. Through Think-Pair Share, learners discuss the religion each worship belongs to.
4. Identify the types of worship in Christianity, Islam and Indigenous African Religions. E.g. private (individual or family) and congregational.
5. In three mixed ability groups, learners dramatise the types of worship in the three major religions.
