Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.2.1.1.3 - Generate and answer questions to increase understanding and independent reading of fiction texts
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Generate at least five different types of questions (who, what, where, why, how) about a fiction text before and during reading.
- Read a fiction passage closely to identify implicit meaning, that is, ideas the author suggests without stating directly.
- Answer questions about a fiction text accurately, providing evidence from the text to support each answer.
- Use the answers to their questions to state the main idea of the fiction text in one complete sentence.
- Review their own questions after reading and revise them to show how their understanding has grown.
