Indicator: B7.2.1.1.2 - Use prediction to assess and improve understanding of texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Make predictions about a text’s content using prior knowledge, titles, pictures, and text features before reading.
  2. Ask relevant questions to form ideas about what a text will be about.
  3. Read a short text and check whether their predictions were accurate or needed adjustment.
  4. Use adjusted predictions to improve their understanding of the text as they read.
  5. Explain how prediction helps them become more confident and independent readers.
