Indicator: B7.2.1.1.1 - Read and understand a range of texts using monitoring and mental visualisation strategies to interpret texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Read a short narrative text aloud with reasonable fluency and expression.
  2. Create and describe mental pictures (visual images) from details in the text to show understanding.
  3. Identify points where their understanding breaks down and state what they do to fix it (monitoring and self-correcting).
  4. Connect events or characters in the text to their own experiences in a brief oral or written response.
  5. Discuss a text with a partner, using monitoring and visualisation to support their interpretation.
