Indicator: B7.2.1.1.1 - Read and understand a range of texts using monitoring and mental visualisation strategies to interpret texts
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Read a short narrative text aloud with reasonable fluency and expression.
- Create and describe mental pictures (visual images) from details in the text to show understanding.
- Identify points where their understanding breaks down and state what they do to fix it (monitoring and self-correcting).
- Connect events or characters in the text to their own experiences in a brief oral or written response.
- Discuss a text with a partner, using monitoring and visualisation to support their interpretation.
