Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.2.3.3.6 - Analyse works of other dance and drama artistes based on the history, culture, environment and topical issues in and around their communities
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Watch and observe video clips of dance and drama performances from various artistes and identify at least three historical, cultural, environmental or topical issues reflected in each performance.
- Analyse a selected video clip using a structured observation guide, and categorise the issues found under history, culture, environment and topical issues.
- Document their analysis in writing, providing at least one piece of evidence from the performance to support each issue identified.
- Reflect on and discuss the analysed video clips in small groups, generating at least two new performance ideas inspired by the issues they observed.
- Present their group’s analysis and generated ideas to the class with clear justification for their conclusions.
