Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.3.3.6 - Analyse works of other dance and drama artistes based on the history, culture, environment and topical issues in and around their communities

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Watch and observe video clips of dance and drama performances from various artistes and identify at least three historical, cultural, environmental or topical issues reflected in each performance.
Analyse a selected video clip using a structured observation guide, and categorise the issues found under history, culture, environment and topical issues.
Document their analysis in writing, providing at least one piece of evidence from the performance to support each issue identified.
Reflect on and discuss the analysed video clips in small groups, generating at least two new performance ideas inspired by the issues they observed.
Present their group’s analysis and generated ideas to the class with clear justification for their conclusions.
