Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.2.3.2.4 - Appreciate and appraise an indigenous and a neotraditional group within the community based on their style, instruments, song themes, dance movements, etc.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least one indigenous music group and one neotraditional music group within their community, stating their names and the type of music each performs.
- Describe the instruments, song themes, and dance movements characteristic of both the indigenous and neotraditional groups studied.
- Compare and contrast the two groups using a structured format that covers style, instruments, song themes, and dance movements.
- Express a reasoned personal appraisal of both groups, stating which aspects of each group’s music they appreciate and why.
- Present their findings clearly to the class using appropriate speaking skills and, where possible, simple digital tools for documentation.
