JHS1 Creative Arts And Design · Term 2, Week 12
Creative and Aesthetic Expression
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.2.2.2.5 - Plan a display of own and others’ musical works that reflect the history and culture of the people in the community
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and list the key elements of a musical display plan, including venue, order of performances, roles, and audience.
- Explain how the musical works created in Week 11 (B7.2.2.2.4) reflect the history and culture of their local community.
- Create a written step-by-step plan for a class concert display of their own and classmates’ musical works.
- Assign and describe specific roles (master of ceremonies, stage manager, sound manager, usher, recorder) for the class concert.
- Justify the order of performances in the concert plan by linking each piece to the historical or cultural story it tells, as rehearsal for the actual concert scheduled in a follow-up lesson.
This lesson focuses on planning only. The actual staging and video recording of the concert and the appreciation activities are scheduled for later slots (Term 3, Weeks 1 and 2), so learners will prepare the plan here and execute it in the next lesson.
