Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.4.1.1.3 - Demonstrate the use of constants and variables used in programming

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define constants and variables in their own words with reference to programming.
  2. Distinguish between constants and variables by identifying examples of each in everyday life and in simple code.
  3. Demonstrate how to declare and assign values to variables and constants in simple program lines.
  4. Explain at least two benefits of using variables instead of constants in a program.
  5. Trace how the value of a variable changes when it is reassigned during program execution.
