Indicator: B7.3.4.1.1 - Identify the importance of the web in learning [Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)]

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and give at least two examples of platforms used for online learning.
  2. Explain at least three ways in which VLEs support self-paced learning.
  3. Describe how VLEs allow learners to acquire new skills without needing a regular classroom.
  4. List at least two advantages and two limitations of learning through a VLE compared to traditional classroom learning.
  5. Identify situations in their own lives where a VLE could help them learn something new.
