Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.3.2.3 - Demonstrate the use of the Autofill function in MS-Excel worksheet

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what the Autofill function is and when to use it in an Excel worksheet.
  2. Demonstrate how to use the fill handle to generate a series of numbers, including counting numbers and odd numbers.
  3. Demonstrate how to use Autofill to generate the days of the week and months of the year.
  4. Use the Autofill function to generate a multiplication table (e.g. the 3-times table).
  5. Identify the difference between copying a formula with Autofill and filling a simple data series.
